This post is underwritten by Old Navy. Whether you’re looking for a tankini, bikini, or a one piece, Old Navy has you confidently covered at a great price. I can’t believe it’s time for swimsuit season! I know it can be frustrating to find a perfect swimsuit that makes you feel confident yet doesn’t cost a fortune. Luckily I discovered that Old Navy is a one stop shop for flattering swim wear this season. Ryan recently received an unexpected gift card there for his birthday from his sister so I decided to tag along to help him shop…and ok look … Continue reading

Quick Update In Colorado FHBC

tumblr_lhdfouuRZT1qfwe6so1_400

So I’m here at the Fitness and Health Bloggers Conference and have had a blast so far!! Since being here Wednesday, I’ve done so many new things and have learned boat loads of information. My mind has been blown! In a good way So far I’ve Learned…. That carbohydrates are your friends ::JUMPING ECSTATICALLY:: Elite Athletes NEED carbs to fuel their performance thus their diet has a higher percentage of carbohydrates than protein or fat. Studies have shown that the average exerciser can benefit from this line of thinking. **More info to come in my session recap** We need to … Continue reading

Colorado Trip & First Vlog

sorry-danced-public-apology-ecard-someecards

I didn’t pack last night until 11 pm. I know I KNOW malo right? Sometimes I think I enjoy the drama of packing the night before a trip. But most likely I think I just have a broken sensor. The excitement doesn’t switch on until I’m just about to leave on a plane. Unfortunately I need that damn sensor to motivate me to do practical things like pack or scour the house for my chargers. Instead of doing the stuff I should’ve done, I went shopping after work, found nothing, cooked dinner, and filmed my very first vlog. Eeek it … Continue reading

I Tried Zumba and Fell in Love

photo(23)

Yesterday was a typically busy Monday at work. I always have lots of e-mail to respond to from over the weekend on top of all my other responsibilities. I sometimes wonder how my hands don’t fall off from all the typing and I’m seriously counting on having to replace my eyeballs by the time I’m 40. Does anyone else get bleary eyed from staring at a hyper lit screen all day and end up looking like this? Sorry Demi. Didn’t mean to put you out there like that. You just happen to provide the perfect example of what I feel … Continue reading

Embrace the Skin You’re In! Choose Skin Health

It’s summer time and most of us are ready to head out and get farmer tans soak in some rays, go to barbecues/stuff our faces, go through the demoralizing lengthy process of selecting a flattering bathing suit , and oh yeah have a good time. All kidding aside, I want to talk about something very important to me. Not too long ago, I met up with my running group for one of our weekly runs and we started chatting a little while waiting for everyone to arrive. One of the newer girls made a comment about how disgustingly pale she … Continue reading

Krispy Kreme Doughnut Race Challenge

I can’t believe we did that. Really, it was such a crazy kind of event. It was bizarre to see so many fit people waiting around to gobble down doughnuts and then run. I felt like Willy Wonka had cast a spell on Jacksonville. Willy Wonka- “And over there children, is where you will stuff mounds of sugary dough down your gullet before sprinting for your life.” Children respond “it sounds like a strange experience……but we’re intrigued! Let’s do this!” As I mentioned earlier, we weren’t dumb crazy enough to sign up for this challenge solo, so I picked up our … Continue reading

Doughnut Race and Weekend Prep

In less than 5 hours I will be subjecting myself to a whole lotta sugar and an increased risk of queasiness….all in the name of charity. Of course, why else? This year, Jacksonville is holding its inaugural 5k Doughnut race benefiting the Special Olympics of Duval County. The race begins at the YMCA and asks its participants to eat 12 doughnuts and run 3.1 miles under 45 minutes. Our running group, being all sorts of wacky and enthusiastic about challenges, decided to rally the troops and participate. Luckily they opted to form teams (the sane option) 3 members in each … Continue reading
