Hola!! Bonjour! I’m Lynda, a goofy 20 something year old Cuban American that was born and raised in Miami. Growing up bilingual and surrounded by an International community really molded me into the adventurous person I am today. En serio, I have no problems feeling at home anywhere in the world!
When I was 18, I traveled to Rome by myself to study at the University and live there. The experience of living on my own in a foreign Country really opened my eyes and forever altered how I look at life. From that moment on, I knew that anything was possible. I wasn’t just daydreaming. I was envisioning my goals. And I didn’t have to just sit there and hope that good things would come my way. I learned that I could make it happen. I could go after my dreams like it was my job, and it is if you think about it.
It is your job to pursue happiness in this life. After all, if you’re truly happy, everyone around you benefits from it.
I then had the opportunity to go abroad once more when I won a GiIlman Scholarship. I went to Chambery,France to study French 4 hours a day, 5 days a week. It was my heaven on earth!! I truly woke up every single day feeling lucky and grateful to be living one of my dreams.
With this mentality that anything is possible, I began my journey as a runner in 2010 and shortly thereafter began documenting my hits and misses here. Hit The Road Jane is my honest take on running and healthy living. I’ll never sugarcoat my struggles because I want you to learn from them.
At the end of the day, Hit The Road Jane is all about empowerment. You have the power to bring health and happiness into your life. Remember, it is your JOB to take care of your body. Go ahead and start TODAY.
Get out there and Hit The Road Jane.
You won’t regret it.
