Adjusting & An Announcement

Things are finally settling down around here and I’m beginning to find some balance. It honestly took much longer than I thought to adjust after the move and figure out how to manage school, work, blogging and a corneal abrasion that won’t go away!! Sometimes I’ve had to sit back and realize I am not Superwoman (although my Dad did name me after Wonder Woman Lynda Carter.) I had to accept that something has to give when you’re overloaded and adjusting to living on your own for the first time in 4 years. But I’m back and although my eye is acting up again, it is healing and I am getting everything back on track.

So let’s talk fun stuff! Here is what I’ve been up to lately:

I Dissected a brain last night for Anatomy class and was geeking out along with another classmate who is a fellow Grey’s Anatomy lover. I realize I may be in the minority here but cutting is fun! The only thing missing was McDreamy and scrubs. Mmmm.

I get scared at times when I think about how long the journey will be, but moments like these remind me of what I’m working towards and make it worthwhile.

anatomy In other news, I Tried out the new Kinvara 4 viziglo shoes I won from Fitblog LA during my runs for Every Mother Counts Charity. They are fantastic! picture glowing orbs of lighted feet streaking through the air as you fly street to street in the dark and you’ll get a good idea of what it’s like to wear these. I’m a total night owl so these are a great way to stay safe when I run outside at odd hours.

vizi Oiselle is doing a challenge this month that is helping to raise money through Charity app. It’s really easy and free to participate if you want to help out. Just download the app on your smartphone and run or walk as usual with your phone. Charity app will donate money for every mile you complete. Easy Peasy.

My Announcement…..Sort of ;)

Destiny is bringing me to one of the most amazing places for my first marathon. After 2 registrations that I had to back out of because of some obstacles and personal reasons, I am finally FINALLY going to be running 26.2 miles!! This time feels right and I have got to believe that ” 3rd time’s a charm” means something.

Can you guess where I’m heading to?? I promise to share all the details tomorrow :)  I know, I know, I’m such a tease. I’m dying to tell you so here’s a baby hint because I really can’t help it:

d I feel like this marathon has been pent up inside of me and I’m just going to look like Charlie out there on race day.

run God I love this dog! He really knows how to make me smile no matter what is going on.

One more day till the long weekend!!

QOTD

Are you training for any races?

  1. Those shoes are amazing! Love them!

Congrats on the marathon – can’t wait to hear what it is. I’m not technically training for any races, just trying to get back into a rhythm after an injury. I do have two fun runs coming up though, both 5Ks – Turkey Trot and Jingle Bell Run.

I’m lucky because we have TWO cats that make us smile. They’re crazy and squishy and fun and we love them to pieces.

Yay! 26.2! Just ran my 9th…it was fantastic–Nike women’s in SF! I’d highly recommend it.

Not currently training but hoping I will be for Boston this April! I have qualified 4xs now (most recently at Nike women’s) but have yet to earn a bib. Keep getting bumped since 2009 bc it’s either filled too fast or my BQs weren’t fast enough for the roll downs. I have a chance to win an entry through Power Bars stronger together contest. To win I need to be one of the entrants with top 10 most votes for my entry. Would be thrilled if you could help and take time to vote at https://powerbar.promo.eprize.com/stories/ Click on the gallery and search for Charlene click on my entry and cast your vote! Would appreciate any votes and you can vote daily through 11/10

Will you be doing anymore Ragnar races? I’d sure love to! Miami to key west was a blast!

Can’t wait to hear where you will be marathoning!
