I’m really looking forward to putting all the pieces of my new routine together this week. Last week as you know was all about swimming as Lisa and I headed over to the University for our first two Master’s classes. I did a couple easy runs with Charlie and just tried to recover a little bit from the Zooma race. The next 5 days will be all about using my resources to work out daily. Here are a few of the best ways to workout at home.
Create a Home Gym
Stock your gym up slowly with basics like hand weights, a yoga mat, exercise ball, and resistance bands. You can find affordable gear like this at TJ Maxx, Ross, and Marshalls for half the price you’d see at other retail stores. Seriously this has saved me boatloads of cash!! I’ve purchased tons of stuff for less than $10 this way. These basic items can go a long way in helping you do workouts with wii games, DVDs, and tabata routines found online.
Next, save your pennies and invest in a piece of equipment like this Elliptical Trainer from Zoostores.com. I’m such an online shopaholic these days because of stores like this that give me the best prices possible.
Bring the gym into your home and enjoy an efficient, high-caliber workout which works your legs as well as your upper body. The EX-57 offers an eight-level electronic resistance system while offering a smooth, quiet operation. More significantly from a user perspective, it offers nine goal-oriented programs. You can choose one of three different goals (time, distance, and calories) and one of three terrains (manual, reverse train, and hills). The crisp LCD screen, meanwhile, offers key workout feedback, helping you develop an effective training regimen.
What’s great about Zoostores is that they have all kinds of fitness products (over 500,000) like pilates, gym equipment, mats, etc. with the ability to search and compare items from over 250 stores. There are 60% off discounts and always free shipping.
Purchase Some Workout DVDs (or Win some below)
Jillian Michaels anything is really great. 30 Day shred is a staple for most but all of her DVDS will give you an amazing workout.
Dvds are great especially if you’re a little nervous about trying a group class at the gym. If you get tired using a DVD at home, you can rest without feeling judged and workout in any clothing you find to be comfortable. That’s when I personally break out my short shorts
Play a Game
If you have a game system, head over to redbox and rent their Just Dance Game or Zumba title. You’ll forget you’re working out when you’re having so much fun. This is one of my favorite ways to sweat after a long day at work if I’m dreading a drive to the gym.
Ok here’s the fun part!! Zoostores.com wants to help you get get fit in 2013 by giving away some awesome prizes.
